When we speak about Dior house of perfumes we have to acknowledge the fact that it has a great number of perfumes created to rejoice its admirers. Although those perfumes are various and different they all convey the pedigree of the creator, high class perfume mark, elegance and the very special signature of recognition.

I love Dior house of perfumes, its class and quality. My great perfume loves are Dior perfumes. So, I’ll be subjective and very inspired. In quintet of Poison’s edition, where each deserves the attention and its own story, special position I’ all give to one blue beauty, mysterious companion, midnight rider…Midnight Poison.

Dior Midnight Poison

The signs of midnight are present: rounded bottle colored by the night sky which is alighted by shy natural light of moon and stars. The first notes are gently citrus from bergamot and mandarine. Very soon charming rose scents interlaced with amber and patchouli grow on. But, we must not forget the word in title, which we feel in each chord. Midnight. Time for mystery. Mystery of the perfume. Subdued notes are dark, but not heavy. They are mystic, brave and wavy. The perfume behaves like ‘poison’: alluring until it poisons with its apparent tenderness…

Dior Midnight Poison Pure Perfume

You can’t resist, take it, and walk on deserted street, while it floats like transparent mantle emanating fragile aura like invisible guard. High notes will last to the base notes and even though you find one masculine hint it will stay very feminine to the end, but this feminity expresses the woman who is cheeky enough to brag with her luxurious beauty at midnight…

Longevity of the perfume satisfied in edp concentration, but as a perfume it is much better.

I have been poisoned by Midnight Poison and antidote doesn’t exist.

Official notes: mandarine, bergamote, rose, patchouli, Bourbon vanilla and amber.
Edition 2007.

It was warm spring afternoon, sun rays on paved Knez Mihailova street, breeze on my face…People faces pass by, spontaneous pushing, sighs, smiles, scents…

I found myself in front of a small, cute perfume shop. Friendly shop-girls offer their help while I watch rows and lines of mysterious bottles bearing more mysterious names. I become more nervous trying to find the object of my attention, aware that it is not the one and only.

The bottles are nice, thin and tall, simple but elegant . I watch, read and reveal the essence. The essence is complex, various and capricious. It is obvious even to those, who are not deeply interested in the content captured in the glass.

Alexander The Great - Mosaic

Iskander! Alexander The Great. The Perfume.

Created by magic skill of grand perfume house : Parfum d’ Empire.

The first touch of the perfume is scent of citrus fruits, but they are not sharp, strong, sour and harsh. In fact, this is the bowl full of citrus fruits which are soft, light and juicy that you wouldn’t like to eat but to sniff continuously.

Parfum d`Empire Iskander

After a short time you can feel a soapy scent of clean, neatly shaved man’s face. Those two notes will be balancing, trying to prevail. It is not the struggle, but the hugging, caressing, whispering.

Later, you will find a bit of moss, musk and amber. And everything will remain soft , tender and fine…

Longevity of the perfume is quite good, but even if the intense is weaker in two hours, the scent will still be wrapping round with its lightness.

This perfume is a high class, quality fragrance that can`t be easily forgotten.

Official information:
50ml/100ml bottles, edp
Notes: lemon, grapefruit, mandarine, cedar, tarragon, neroli, coriander, oak, musk and amber.

Opium Poesie de Chine, as a gourmand oriental perfume, appeared last year as a limited edition of legendary Opium.

It was unexpected love at first smell, which proved itself during using and getting to know. For me, it is a perfume without failures, irresistible composition which intermingles the charms of the Far East with sensibility of spoiled and demanding European consumer.

Seductively feminine and poetic, noble and unique, this fragrance is the poetry that has, for few thousands of years of Chinese culture, inseparable followed philosophy, discoveries, music, painting, fighting skills as well as life enjoyment like ultimate sublimation of all the arts. Beauty is an imperative with no competition. Balance is the way of existence. It is the harmony of nature, colors and materials, surroundings and mood, harmony of words and feelings, intentions and actions, thoughts and movements.

©Dragana YLS Opium Poesie de Chine

As compared with the first Opium, that has equally been loved and disliked, this one is less passionate, tenderer and lighter but not weaker. It is made of the same substances but weaved tenderly. Opium Poesie de Chine is full of flowers, spices, resins and secret components that, at the same time, make it more recognizable and new. It could be said that it is sensual oriental fragrance, as it softly runs over the skin like a semi – transparent silk scarf, flutters, leaving a hint of a body underneath… Suitable for various occasions and all seasons, warm and persistent, it spreads tender aura which follows every breath and movements.

YSL Opium Poesie de Chine

The first charming wave indicates the elite family it originates from. Mandarine with ginger is sweet but it does not give the appetite for food because it is mixture of magnolia, jasmine, balsams, resins and spices. The whole composition is softened by a velvet base of patchouli, vanilla and myrrh and intermingled into inextricable ball of fragrance harmony that follows you for the next few hours, filling your day with quiet enjoyment.

“Perfume Trip“ – was the first definition of that experience, the term that conforms more to the users of some other substances…Return to the reality or „ going down“ is slow, soft and easy. For a long time dry down reminds you of a special experience you have had; you smile, but you don`t know how to explain this feeling to your friends. And we now get to the full meaning of it – although it is Poetry – Opium is still its name.

Opium Poesie de Chine belongs to the Eaux d’ Orient collection and officially it consists of tangerine, ginger, magnolia, jasmine, vanilla, patchouli, myrrh and musk.

Package: 100ml, edt
The word scent comes from Latin words ‘’per fumum’’ (through fume, smoke) which was explained by the fact that the essences of incense were combusted for the purpose of glorifying Gods and ancestors.

The art of scent mixing have been developing in time. Different cultures have made different scents depending on climate and ingredients that were available to them. Beginning of this art is related to Near East and later on it is carried to Europe ( during Alexander Macedonian warfare and expansion of the Empire towards Asia as well as trade with Arabs).

It is well known that old Egyptian pharaohs had used myrrh, cinnamon and incense for the purpose of creating scents. The story of three wisemen which had presented gold, incense and myrrh to Jesus on the day when he was born, is famous, too. The significance of making scents and their purpose is shown in Bible where, among other, the incense is pointed out as an ingredient which is above all ingredients and that is why it deserves admiration. The Jews were well known in using aloe and gallbanum beside incense and spices while old Greeks were specialists in making essences available to them, as well as in producing olive oil, sandalwood and benzoin.

Roman Realm took over the traditions of scents from ancient Greece and included scents in their ceremonies of birth, wedding, funeral. Enabled sailing lines and trading with Arabs brought them oriental essences. Romans were famous of their thermal baths where all the people could have a bath no matter if they are poor or reach. Those baths smelled flowery like lotus, rose petals, narcissus, iris and cardamom, sandal or animal substances (musk, civet, castroneum) and various resins. Arabia is the most appropriate place for cultivation of the high quality ingredients so it is called the country of thousands perfumes. The words of Mohamed point out the significance of perfumes in Islamic culture : “ Women, children and perfumes are what I love most of all in the world.”

Far East offers aromas that have influence on medicine and zen. Lotus and camellia blossom, the essences of green tea, Chinese violas, incense are characteristic for China, as well….
